The Professional Code: The Power of Follow Up
Here is a set of professional templates you can use to follow up after a shoot. These are designed to show you are a «Class Act»—someone who is polite, grateful, and organized. Sending these is a proven way to get invited back.
The Post-Shoot «Thank You» Templates
Option 1: The «Same Day» Message (WhatsApp / DM)
Send this 1–2 hours after finishing the shoot. It shows immediate appreciation.
«Hi [Name]! Just wanted to say a huge thank you for today. I really enjoyed the energy on set and seeing the way you work with [light/makeup/styling]. It was a pleasure to be part of your vision. Can’t wait to see the results! Best, [Your Name].»
Option 2: The «Post-Credit» Message (Instagram Story/Post)
Use this when you share a «Behind the Scenes» (BTS) or the final photos. This is the «Give» part of the professional code.
«Incredible day working with this talented crew! 📸 Massive thanks to [Photographer Tag] for the direction, [MUA Tag] for the amazing transformation, and [Stylist Tag] for the killer look. Highly recommend these pros if you’re looking for top-tier results! 🔥»
Option 3: The «Agency Follow-up» (Email)
Send this to your booker or agent after a professional gig.
«Hi [Booker Name], just wanted to let you know the shoot with [Client/Photographer] went great today. The team was fantastic and very professional. I really appreciate the opportunity. Let me know if there’s any feedback from their side! Best, [Your Name].»

The Golden Rules of the «Follow-Up»:
- Don’t ask for the photos yet: Use the thank you to build the relationship, not to pressure the photographer for the files.
- Tag Everyone: Don’t just tag the photographer. The MUAH and Stylist are often the ones who recommend models for the next job.
- Be Sincere: People can feel when a «thank you» is fake. Find one specific thing you liked about their work (e.g., «The way you used the shadows» or «That specific lipstick color») and mention it.
